Refining without much effort? Our Star products enable deposition without electroplating!

The Tifoo Star products offer you the possibility of simply gilding or silver-plating your object in a bath without much effort. For the Silver Star, you only need your workpiece and a suitable container. For our Gold Star, all you need is a heating plate and a heat-resistant vessel. You can do without expensive equipment and galvanic build-up for the refinement! Please note that in contrast to the galvanic method, only a thin, decorative layer is deposited with the Star products.

Gold-Star - creating shiny gold layers on non-ferrous metals

With the Gold Star, you can gold-plate coloured metals such as copper, brass and nickel silver and also nickel within a few minutes without any previous electroplating knowledge or equipment. In this way, you can give old jewellery a new shine in no time at all. The resulting colour depends on the starting material and the duration of the gilding process. From red gold to yellow gold (24 carat) everything is possible. The bath needs an operating temperature of about 90°C and should be operated in a beaker with a cover. Make sure that your workpiece does not contain any additional coating!

Silver Star - simply silver-plating copper and brass in the bathroom

Our Silver Star is an uncomplicated way of silver-plating copper and brass within a few minutes in an immersion bath. The silver bath is a less costly alternative to galvanic silver plating and makes it possible to restore old coins, ornamental objects, art objects and much more in an uncomplicated way. After cleaning, the object is simply immersed in the silver bath, then briefly maintained and the workpiece is silver-plated. This is how easy it is to make your own silver jewellery. The silver cannot be deposited directly onto silver. Silver-plating silver cutlery and silver jewellery is not possible with this product. Make sure that your workpiece does not contain any additional coating!

Silver gel - selective silver plating of copper and brass

Similar to Silver Star, Silver Gel can be used to effectively silverplate copper and brass for decorative purposes. The silver gel is also an inexpensive alternative to galvanic silver plating and essentially does not require any auxiliary materials. In contrast to Silver Star, the gel can be applied to the surface in a more targeted manner. Impressive reliefs can then be created on copper or brass objects by applying the gel with a toothpick, brush or sponge. In this way, objects can be silver-plated only partially as well as over the entire surface. The same applies to the silver gel as to all surface finishing processes: the cleaner the base surface, the better the result - the deposition can only take place if there is no additional coating (e.g. clear lacquer or similar) on the surface!

Frequently asked questions

Yes, this is possible with the help of our conductive copper varnish. The object is sprayed or brushed with copper conductive paint or copper conductive lacquer spray, which first creates a metallic layer. The object is then given its final conductivity in a galvanic bath with acidic bright copper electrolyte. This creates a continuous, conductive copper layer that can then be further treated like any other copper layer, e.g. by silver plating.

Rust Piranha can normally be painted over or treated further. However, please check on an inconspicuous spot whether the rust converter is compatible with your paint colour.

Our products for electroless silver plating only deposit on copper and brass as a base, as the products can only deposit silver with these materials. Accordingly, the products for electroless silver plating can NOT be deposited on silver. If copper or brass are coated, a thin silver layer of 200 - 300 nm is produced, which is intended for decorative purposes only. If you want a thicker silver layer on your object, the only process left is electroplating!

No, unfortunately that is not possible with these products.

In principle, it is possible to gold-plate some aluminium alloys with the Gold Star, but so far this only works with a few compositions. The success of the application can therefore not be guaranteed for all aluminium alloys.

The zinc object must be clean and free of residues such as dirt, oil or particles. The object is then degreased, e.g. with the TIFOO Galvano Degreaser. Depending on the size, the object is immersed in the yellow chromate for a few minutes. 3 minutes is a good guideline.
